Untethered – rewritten. (Poem)

so steep and swift was my rise

I did not feel my feet leave the ground

love bombs dropped nuclear and deadly

on my being

my body rising, rising

I was led on, smilingly

firmly in your grasp

immersed in your hell

turned inside out and upside down

wrung out, bled dry

abandoned

with the last of my strength

I carved out your heart

and cut loose from your harness

falling, falling

sprouting wings before I hit the ground
